She has super cute prints and excellent customer service. And as for absorbancy it is awesome. Skye sleeps in her CNDs, granted they are soaked after 12 hours but what do you expect putting a baby in cloth for that long.

Goodmama Simple goods- My favorite diaper as far as fit but they are quite pricey brand new. absorbancy not so good and customer service- I don't know as I have not dealt with the directly but from what I have seen they are not very good with their customers and getting them the products in a timely fashion or even the right product.

Nacho Dipes- Awesome mama to work with who has a great product. I ordered a custom diaper from her and she did a great job. The fit on Skye is really good and the absorbancy is amazing. works just like my CND. cannot wait to get more

Pooligans - Great fit and a trim diaper, not as absorbant as some of my other diapers, but works well otherwise.

Babushkas- great quality product. fits well and is bigger than most OS(One Size) diapers. the stretch is good. Her penmanship has improved over the last few months, due to the excessive letter writing she has been doing. She cries alot, because she misses the man she swore to love. Her life isn't complete without him.
She looks very tired, because of her many nights without sleep, due to a late night phone call that never came or a call that came and kept her up all night, just because she heard his voice, she is too overjoyed to sleep.
As a wife, she is classified as a dependent, but she is totally independent. She tends to her household, her kids, her school work, and her job, all without her husband.
She manages to wear a smile, even though inside shes crying. She understands that the man she loves has to go far away. She understand that he can be taken away from her in a moments notice. She feels a great sense of pride and probably cries whenever she hears the National Anthem, sees a flag blowing in the breeze, or watches the news and hears about another death in Iraq, she worries that it might be him. She goes weeks without a call or a letter, but she writes him whenever she gets a free moment.
She knows how to convert civilian time into military time. She knows how to iron his clothes and how to get the creases just right.
Before he left she used to complain if she didn't see him for a day or two, but now she gets annoyed when she hears someone complaining about not seeing their boyfriends. She may not have seen him for months but she remembers everything about him, every scar he has, the way he smells, whether or not he snores.
She has every picture of him and them out and in frames, she stares at them for hours on end, she has read every letter at least 40 times. Even though her man is a half a world away, she still manages to go on with her life, as he would want her to.
You may not know what she looks like, but as soon as you see her in the store you'll know that her husband it a world away without even having to speak to her. Shes the one who's half frowning half smiling, she has at least one Support out Troops pen that she wears and one thats on her car. Half her wardrobe is based on his military branch. She owns lots of stuff that has his branch on it. She never knew that could love the color camouflage green, tan, navy blue, red or black so much.
Next time you see her, you'll know her, thank her for what the man she loves is doing. She will greatly appreciate it and she will smile and thank you, and just because you thanked her she will smile the rest of the day!

Days 11-15

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; We then headed to the hospital. The tem minute ride there was the longest ten minutes of my life. I was so afraid my little girl was going to have to be shipped to Oklahoma City for the NICU since she was coming 4 weeks early. No matter how hard I tried not to cry I couldn't help it. I was so worried. If she had to be taken to the NICU in OKC Chris would have followed her and I would have stayed in the hospital in Altus. I had no family here because my mom wasn't due to show up until the 18th of Sep. As I walked into the hospital, people stared at me. I had a trail of water following me and my pants were soaked. I finally made it up to the hospital room and got hooked up to the monitor. I was having mild contractions. They checked me and said they thought they felt baby's head but then the doctor comes in with a ultrasound machine to check. She couldn't tell if her head was what was wedged in my pelvic bone so she had to check up by my ribs and sure enough Skye's head was still up there so that meant a c-section for me. As I layed there with my mom on the phone I started to feel sick. I was facing a major surgery. My mom switched her plane tickets and was due to show up late Sunday night. At around 11:30 they took me to the OR to get me all drugged up. I am laying there and can't feel anything from my chest down, they had me on oxygen and then Chris walked in and sat next to me and held my hand. I was so scared. They cut me open and pulled and pulled and finally she came out and cried. I was so happy to hear her first wail. Chris held her by my face so I could see her. Right before they left he went to put her up to my face so I could kiss her, but I said no cause I am going to throw up and sure enough I did right as they had turned around. Then Chris went with the baby and the nurse to go get her weighed and measured and stuff as I was left to get stitched up and monitored for a little bit. I finally made it up to my room and was starving. She was the most precious thing I have ever seen. Holding her for the first time was amazing. I saw what God can truly do. It was a miracle. Chris said he cried. I had to wait until until 6am for medicine and I was in pain. I never thought I would have to have a c-section, but I was happy my baby was safe and healthy. She was born August 30th at 12:57 am. She weighed 5lbs 14oz and was 19in long.

Now It has been three weeks since she was born and I have the most amazing daughter. She is so sweet. She sleeps most of the time and sometimes her dad can get her to smile. She is a handful as anytime I go to do anything for myself (shower, use the bathroom, eat, etc) she cries. She wants all the attention. She is my miracle and I love her so much. She weighed 6lbs 4 oz on the 15th and was 19.5 in long. She had jaundice so she had to be hooked up to a biliblanket for a week then now she hyperventilates so she is hooked up to an apnea monitor for a month. I love my little girl so much.

what an eventful week

Tuesday- birthing class. We practiced pushing and different positions that help with the labor process and managing pain. It was a long class and some of the positions hurt my knees, so I will not be using those during labor. Next class is on postpartum care.

Wednesday- I hadn't felt the baby move since 9 am and it was about six, so I went to the hospital and got hooked up to a bunch of monitors. After about 10 minutes the nurse comes in and asks me if I am feeling those contractions. I was really confused and asked her what contractions. apparently I had been having some very big contractions really close together. Needless to say I got hooked up to an IV, had a catheter put in to get a sample and then it was taken out. Then I got three shots to stop labor, which it did, thank goodness. I was able to go home and sleep. WOO HOO

Thursday- Chris came home from work and told me that he made SSGT, which he thought he wasn't going to make. That was very exciting and I could tell he was excited because by about 11am he was still up. I was having contractions between 4-6 minutes apart for about an hour and we decided that I should go back into the hospital. So three shots and 5 hours later I was released to go home with a prescription for medicine to stop the contractions if I have them again. The only reason we knew I was having contractions was by feeling my belly with our hands, otherwise I probably would have continued to have them and not notice.

Since then I have had a few contractions but was able to stop them.

Looking forward to being on bedrest, NOT! but it is for the best. My baby is not coming yet. I will shove a cork in it if I have to (wish that was possible).

34 weeks and counting!

So today I hit the lovely 34 weeks mark. I have a doctors appointment on Thursday and they will be checking my blood sugar since last time it was a little too high. Hopefully it will all end up being okay.

We had our second day of parenting class and it went well and we got out early, which I am sure Chris appreciated. We watched a vaginal birth and a c-section (from the side the doctors see) it was interesting. I had to sign a release stating I watched the video and that Chris could be in the room if I ended up having a non-emergency c-section. In order for that to be okay he had to watch the video as well. We we also told that almost every woman poops during labor, which most labor and delivery nurses are very happy about because it means the baby is coming. I thought it was pretty gross. Who wants to have a bowel movement while having to push something so big out of something so little? If this happens during birth I prefer not to know. We also learned about pain management and what medicines are out there for us to use, if we would like. I am still hoping to be able to have a natural birth. An epidural is not on my agenda, I WANT TO BE ABLE TO USE MY LEGS! We also discussed contractions and when to come into the hospital. I am not nervous or anything, which is what I thought would happen with attending these classes.

Next week is pushing! First birthing class.

So today I hit 33 weeks and measure 9 toilet paper squares around. At 29 weeks I was 8 toilet papers squares. I am continuing to lose room.

My classes started tonight and it was long. They talked about preterm labor and some complications that can happen. Some women were really fraking out! Talked about an epidural as well. I am still planning on natural birth though. Chris says I will have an epidural though. I told him I know what meds are out there and if I want them I will ask for them, but until then I am going all natural. He just doesn't get it, he said if you can relieve the pain and not have to go through that, then why not? I just want to be able to walk, go to the bathroom, etc after the baby is born. I do not want to have jello for legs. I want to be able to say I did it!!! It is something I want to accomplish. This was an unplanned pregnancy, I at least want something ot go according to plan. It wasn't very scary at all. If I end up having a premie she will most likely have to be shipped to Oklahoma city which is 2hours and 30 minutes away, while I would have to stay in Altus. Hopefully that doesn't happen. Chris would follow the baby in the truck so that he could be with her.

We got to tour the hospital and see where the labor and delivery room was and where they perform c-sections. It is a very small hospital so there is not a whole lot of room.

All in all, I am looking forward to the next class and getting another week closer to meeting my baby girl!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lovingmyairman.blogspot.com/2009/08/week-33-first-birthing-class.html' title='Week 33. So they are going to check it at my next appointment to see if it is high and if it is, they will proceed to do further testing. I am measuring three weeks too small and she said that kind of concerns her. What the heck? Am I supposed to worry? The baby's heartbeat was "happy" as the doctor put it. I don't know. So many thoughts run through my head. Will my blood sugar be up again? Will my baby be small? The doctor is also concerned that I have not gained enough weight. I probably eat an elephant a day. I am always eating. I even get up in the middle of the night to eat. I am a couch potato, so not much exercising gets done. I do not know what is going on. Oh well. It will be over in 53 more days(hopefully).

32 weeks down, 8 more to go.

Today I am 32 weeks and could not be more impatient for my little girl to come. I thought I would be married and be in my mid-twenties before I got pregnant. I thought I would have a degree or a certificate of some sort, but that is not the case. I am 18, unmarried and jobless with a baby on the way.I am living across the country from all my family. I am in a position where I feel helpless and alone. I feel as though nobody understands. Yes, I am the one who moved. I found it extremely important for Chris and I to be together when our baby is born. I admit it is very stressful. I wish I had a job because that would cut down the stress, but I just can't seem to find one. I don't get to do all the things that 18 year olds are doing. I have to grow up and be an adult. I am the one who got myself into this position, but I still miss just having fun and not having to worry about every thing I do. Will it harm the baby? Is what I am eating safe? etc. I cannot wait to meet my little girl, but at the same time I am not ready. I want Chris to be able to feel the closeness I already have with her. I want to be able to give my little girl a great life. I want to give her more than just what she needs, but far above that. I have always wanted kids young, but not this young. I know I will be a good mother and Chris will be a great father. I wish I would have decided not to have sex. I wish I wasn't about to have a baby because my life is nowhere near where I hoped it would have been by now. I hope to get my cosmetology license after the baby is born, but I will have to find someone to watch my daughter and find a school, which all are about 30-45 minutes away. It is going to be tough. I just hope I stick to my plans and do it.

My birthday

Today I awoke to Chris saying happy birthday. He wanted to be the first to say it. Then I got a sweet card which made me cry. The card said
I'm in love with you! There I was - one minute getting to know you, enjoying you, and wondering where it would all lead... and the next, thinking about you all the time, knowing that I never, ever wanted to be without you! I guess that's the way life is. You're going along doing your everyday things, and out of the blue, life surprises you with something amazing - something you had no idea how much you wanted. That's what you are to me, you know, an amazing gift... Falling in love with you is something I couldn't stop, even if I tried. What I'm trying to say is - you're "it" for me, now and forever.

Then he wrote on the card " Baby I love you so much. You and baby Skye are all I ever want in this world. Muah, have a happy birthday.

I read this and balled my eyes out. He also got me a cookies and cream ice cream cake because you can't have a birthday without cake. The entire day he took care of me, asking if I needed anything.

I also received a box in the mail which was perfect timing, it cam on my birthday. It was from my mom. I got books for the baby, but one in particular stood out. The belly button book. My belly button has always been my so called security blanket and this book just made me laugh. I love my family so much.
